happy holidays.

us and lil' us

Mom

Dad.

These two were Christmas presents for my sister and brother-in-law. They are chalk pastels, and made from some rather un-flattering photos of my parents. - a series of two -(don't worry Jake, there won't be any more.)

bodies....huh.

I have work that I need to scan, but I just want to take a minute here on another subject. Isn't it strange when you find out something about your body that's new, after 25 years, and it fully blows your mind. I just noticed and became fascinated by how drastic the change in skin texture is from the top of my finger to the pad of my hand. the best light to observe this by seems to be laptop light with hands on the keyboard. Its amazing how quickly yet fully integrated the textual differences are. Maybe this is stupid but its fully boggling my world right now.

giraffe in space/ under water - you decide.

this started out as a sketch for something that I was going to paint on a canvas- but canvas still scares me. so it became a water color. I kinda effed it up when I decided to paint the background in. now it belongs in a 8 year old girls room.

Play

some more stuff that I have been playing with these days.
this is Jen, from a vacation photo from Sayulita.-

I have been doing a lot of doodles of robot parts that almost make robots, I am not sure if I really like what I end up with but they are kind of a fun exercise in doodling.

Thanks to Mark Brown I have been trying out watercolors on my sketches to give them a more finished look, also it heps with development and is really kinda fun- here are a two that I got to the scanner.-

swolen elbows and smiles

I went skateboarding yesterday for way too long. Met a guy, Justin from spokane. It was his 22 birthday, Jordan and I made sure it was a good one. Here he is at the boiler room.

finally some vitamin D

I have gotten in a bit of sun this afternoon. my bike was tuned up yesterday, rode a bit in the snow then, and again today. Its way to brisk but not fully un-enjoyable. Melle is enjoying the wether as well. more doodles to come when I figure out the scanner issues. I was able to get some work done in that aspect of my life (the artsyfartsy side).
