Smitts (our cat) jumped over my back and subsequently landed in my dinner. My dinner, which was on the floor in front of me because jen and I were having a living room picnic, ended up mutating into this. Kitty paws are filthy, filthy things.

sloppy but fun

these are both kind of just playing around with over painting. I had a few paintings I sort of hated- or at least could not work though, so I just decided to put blobs of paint on the canvas, ruin the painting that was there, and try and make something out of those blobs of paint that I liked better. this is what I ended up with. I am not sure if they are done, or if they will get painted over once again. - we'll see.
Wind mills

These are a collaboration with Jenny Jen. A wind farm was set up within the past two years just out side of Ellensburg on the bluffs surrounding Thorp. You can see them from the freeway, from town, and well just about anywhere around here. they have caused a lot of controversy. there are some folks who feel that the wind mills ruin the natural landscape, or block their view of the Stewart mountain range. There are others who are in favor of wind energy, they just don't want to see the wind mills- this is the whole "not in my backyard" group. there are others who just love them and liken them to the windmills of the dutch countryside. We have these pieces up in the studio, and its been awesome to hear all the views that people have and how passionate they get. Jen and I kind of fancy then, they seem whimsical, and fun. Not to mention a much more environmentally sound alternative to dams or coal plants. - anyways just wanted to share that.
I havent posted in a while, this is me catching up.
